So here we are at the end of another week. It has been a fantastic time full of of listening, learning, and growth. On the album front, we’ve been working on the editing process and are preparing to go into the mixing stage with everything. The fact that we can record something in San Francisco and send it to someone in St. Louis for a harmony line is amazing to me. I’ve seen the technology grow from rotary phones to what we have now and I’m still blown away every day. I actually kind of miss the “ra-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta” sound that the phone would make when you released the dial! Of course, I also love the sound of window unit air conditioners.
In addition to the album, I’m making some changes to the Acoustic Shabbat service. The Torah portion for this week includes the prayer that Moses says for Miriam when she is stricken ill. He says, “Ana El Na Refa Na La” or “I beesech you, Gd, heal her please.” We have used this in a few services now and I thought it was time to record it. This is a new arrangement and living room recording for that prayer. It is meant as a kind of meditation and I hope you enjoy it.
